The booking is confirmed when the signed booking agreement is received along with a deposit of 25% of the total stay. As long as the agreement and cheques confirming the booking have not reached us, the hostel rooms remain free to rent and can be rented by the first person to pay the deposit. A pre-booking is not a booking and is not binding.
A few days prior to the start of your stay (minimum 3 days), please contact us to confirm yout time of arrival, normally indicated on the rental agreement. We will wait for you at the hostel at the agreed time to carry out an inventory of fixtures.
If you think you are going to be late, please warn us as soon as possible (Tel : +33 (0(2 98 72 47 39).
In the event of you not warning us of an unexpected delay beyond one day, the gate will be closed and your stay may be cancelled and your booking invalidated.
The mobile phone network at the hostel and nearby is very poor.
We can make changes to numbers, insofar as there are beds available. The managers reserve the right to reply. Any change in the number of guests that has not been notified 8 hours prior to arrival will not be taken into account.
Terms of cancellation and withdrawal
To make your stay easier, our policies and procedures are set out below. They are there to help you if you should run into difficulties during your stay. You are bound by the rental’s general and specific terms and conditions, as well as the policies and procedures of the Gîte d'étape de la Gare when you sign the rental agreement.
If you respect the hostel everything should work properly and this will ensure you have a pleasant stay.
The staff is on site from 7.30 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm to answer your questions.
Opening and closing
The hostel, rental of services, and outdoor installations are open from 7.30 am to 10 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm. Naturally, these times can be modified on consultation with the managers, as long as this does not become a habit.
For an overnight stay, arrival after 5 pm and departure before 10 am. If you should overshoot these times, an additional night will be invoiced.
By signing the rental agreement, you confirm having read our policies and the general terms and conditions for the rental.
No price negotiation will be entered into after the agreement is signed. Failure to comply with the safety instructions, contractual commitments, and the rules of procedure entitle the Gîte de la Gare to curtail the rental immediately without a refund, as stipulated in the General rental terms and conditions.
Payment on arrival is a common courtesy and sign of honesty. The balance for the stay will be requested on arrival, with the deposit made on booking subtracted from the overall price of the stay.
You may check which room suits you before payment.
The room is rented to you for a set period on booking, or registration, depending on the terms set out in your rental agreement. The guest who signs this agreement for a set period, has no right whatsoever to remain on the property at the end of the specified period.
Termination of stay
Any stay that has been booked, whether it has begun or not, is due in full. No matter what the reason, a refund is not possible.
No reduction will be agreed to in the event of a late arrival or early departure.
The staff will hand you the key to your room and you must return it every time you leave the hostel.
Inventory of fixtures
An inventory of fixtures will be carried out on your arrival and your departure. Any loss or damage will require compensation.
The organization or the person lodging here is responsible for any damage resulting from their stay. They are advised to take out Civil Liability insurance for the length of their stay, covering the personal injuries of the group and any material damage. In the event of theft or deterioration of the property rented, the owner disclaims all liability.
An inventory of fixtures is carried out on your arrival and when you leave. Any material damage is invoiced.
Everyone’s living rhythms must be taken into consideration. The guest must respect the tranquil nature of the site. The dining rooms and storage areas are common rooms that are to be shared with the other guests and the staff of the hostel. Access to these must be maintained and they should only be used for their designated purpose.
The staff reserve the right to enter the hostel and its outbuildings at any time.
Should a conflict arise, the managers of the hostel reserve the right to refuse hostel guests who breach our policies and procedures.
Any breach of the standards governing the use of the site and the equipment, may give the managers of the hostel the authority to terminate their stay and the tenant shall be held criminally and civilly liable.
The kitchen equipment is professional. This means that you or the other guests can cook whatever you want.
We ask you to comply with the instructions and to clean the equipment afterwards.
A booklet containing recommendations on how to use the equipment and its inventory shall be given to the person in charge of the group.
The equipment (microwave, kettle, coffee machine) are at everyone’s disposal and should be used appropriately and kept in their initial state of cleanliness.
Please take other guests and people in the vicinity into consideration when using the television.
At a charge, the hostel provides a laundry washing and drying service. Access to this room and the use of the machines is only possible if authorized by the hostel managers.
Pets are not allowed to stay overnight on the premises or on the grounds of the hostel.
Failure or malfunction
In the event of failure, please contact us. We will decide what to do together and will do our best to address the situation as soon as possible. Under no circumstances may you request the reimbursement repairs you have requested.
For the safety of everyone and particularly children, cars must be driven at a speed of 5 km/hour (walking pace).
No vehicles should obstruct the path and the access to the service doors.
The users of the hostel are asked not to make any noises or get involved in discussions that might disturb their neighbours. Any sound appliances must be adjusted accordingly. When you enter the hostel, if it is occupied by several people, groups or families, we ask you to respect their sleep and, in particular, children sleeping. It is strictly forbidden to make any noise after 10 pm.
It is strictly forbidden to smoke inside the hostel. Outside, cigarette butts must be discarded in the ashtrays provided for this purpose.
It is forbidden to litter public roads or the hostel grounds. Please use the bins provided to dispose of your waste.
On authorization by the managers, visitors may be admitted to the hostel and enter the rooms. Tenants are responsible for their visitors. The visitors must observe the hostel’s policies, including times.
Remember to hand in the keys to your room every time you leave the hostel.
Emergency and fire
In the event of an emergency, please contact the emergency services and if you have received training, you may use the extinctors located in the hostel. The safety instructions and emergency numbers are displayed in the rooms and at reception (18 for the fire brigade, 15 for a medical emergency, 17 for the police force).
